Adobe, a software company known for graphic-editing program Adobe Photoshop and PDF softwares Adobe Acrobat & Adobe Reader, released Acrobat.com to the public last June 1. Acrobat.com is a flash-based document collaboration website, which offers features including online word processing, PDF creation, and even screen-sharing! It is currently at public open beta stage, and requires Adobe Flash Player 9. Certain features may require other Adobe plug-ins and/or programs (e.g. PDF creator requires Adobe Acrobat 9). In order to increase the number of Windows Live Search users and possible advertising sales, Microsoft made a distribution deal with Hewlett-Packard (HP). Starting January, each personal computer distributed by HP in the US and Canada will contain an installation of Windows Live Search toolbar. The deal also includes installed copies of Internet Explorer with Live Search toolbars with links to HP services like its Snapfish digital-photo printing site.
